Wednesday morning

The 6 AM rounds have been completed and the docs are giving Mike a thumb's up! The flap check was good this morning, and they are going ahead with plans to move Mike out of ICU. They will also start removing some of the drains, and tubes, and such, which means he will be less tethered to the bed and more able to move around, with the hope of having him do some walking in the halls today.

I will update again once he has moved into his new room.

Great News!! Glad to hear that the flap has continued to "take" and I bet Mike will love to lose some of those tubes and drains. Once he is in his room, let us know if he would like something other than hospital pillows and blankets and we will drop off some alternatives. Love to you both - Nan and John

Hi Tricia

Sounds like things are going quite well, which is great news!! I am sure that seeing your smiling face is helping Mike a great deal in his recovery. Hope you are getting some sleep and taking good care of yourself as well.

Wow -- this is TERRIFIC -- glad to hear that all is going well and I can only imagine that Mike will be more than happy to leave behind the chains that bind & tether, and also that he will be moving to a room with a view!

Take care of yourself too Trish!

Getting "untethered" is going to be a big plus! I'm sure Mike is looking forward to saying farewell to some of the apparatus. Glad to hear another flap check has been passed, too. I eagerly await details of the move out of the ICU and hope Mike can watch another M's win tonight. Hope both of you have a good day.

"Mike untethered"--Egads. I fear for humanity. Glad to hear he is healing so well; no doubt he'd like to be home as soon as possible and who can blame him? Tricia, take care of yourself as you take care of him--and we'll continue to keep you both in our prayers.
Much love, The Cali Crew (Sarah, Steve, and Brenda)
