His next sentence: "I sound like Truman Capote."
And, he does :-)
But, he's talking, and boy does that make him feel more like himself!
Otherwise, things continue to progress very nicely and the staff is really pleased with how he is doing. I don't think much is going to happen over the weekend, just resting and healing. I anticipate a flurry of activity on Monday.
That's it for now. Thanks again for the notes, cards, balloons, flowers, offers of help, and many good wishes! We both feel blessed to have such wonderful support from each of you.

Speech--it's a wonderful thing! Even if you do have to sound like Truman Capote (I loved the cartoon portrait). Now that Mike can really talk again, I imagine he may have a lot to tell the doctors and nurses--and I hope he won't be shy! Hope you both have a good Easter weekend and get plenty of rest for all that awaits you next week. I will be thinking of you.
Take care,
Peggy
Great pic, Trish!
It's such a good sign that you can both have a good sense of humor through all this. What a wonderful Easter gift if Mike is well enough to come home early next week.
Thanks for the updates, I'll give you a call tonight.
Love and hugs,
Cathy
Speech is powerful. Then again, so can be a note, especially if handed to a young girl at a drive-through espresso stand. Dave wasn't arrested since the note (penned on a Pug post-in) contained only my order--a grande nonfat sugar-free vanilla latte. I'm not sure how menacing (or clever) a man wearing a Haggen cap and Jerry Garcia tie is, but once the screams died down, I got my drink. Go figure it was adorned with 3 candy-covered espresso beans. Guess "nonfat" and "sugar-free" got lost in the commotion. Anyway, glad Mike is doing so well. Happy Easter to you both!
Glad Mike can talk again - that's wonderful. Truman Capote's voice might not be much, but it's a step up from Kermit The Frog, which is what I was expecting. Hang in there, Mike, you're doing great!
We're all pulling for YOU!
